Tool Setter (CT Office)
You’re qualified and experienced. You’re looking for more. You’ve come to the right place.
Stewart EFI, located in Thomaston, CT is currently looking for well qualified, highly motivated individuals to join our workforce as we continue to grow as one of the largest international suppliers of precision metal, deep drawn, progressive die and slide-formed metal stamped components, and automated assemblies. Stewart EFI people are a great group of hard-working and dedicated professionals who encourage and support their co-workers in manufacturing the highest quality products.
As a Toolsetter, your qualifications, expertise and experience will be called upon to set up Progressive or Transfer presses to automatically punch, cut, or form metal strip by performing the various duties and responsibilities while ensuring continuity of production according to departmental work instructions.
Your workday duties and responsibilities will find you preparing machines for set-up, pulling tool from storage, and preparing them for set-up, installing tools into the press, and setting-up uncoiling equipment, straighteners, feeds, lubrication, and scrap chutes to start production.
Working in an active team environment, you will be working with Toolmakers to complete the set-up and approve the 1st piece samples before production starts. Once production start is approved, you’ll be starting raw material strip and inspecting parts for defects using appropriate measuring devices such as gages, micrometers, scales, indicators, and more.
You’re proud of the quality of work you do, so your weekly activities will also see you monitoring production parts for defects using appropriate measuring devices as well as complying with all safety rules and regulations for the safety of all your fellow employees.
You will work side by side with the Toolmakers and offer suggestions for improvement to simplify the process and make the job easier while driving cost and waste out of the process.
As a capable and conscientious person, your past experience in maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and following good housekeeping practices will be a natural fit with the Stewart EFI work environment.
